In an interview withReuters, HSBC CEO Noel Quinn made it clear that the banking giant has no plans to support Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies anytime soon. According to Reuters, the bank does not intend to launch a cryptocurrency trading desk or offer it as an investment option. The reasoning is what you’ve heard a million times by now: they’re just too volatile. Specifically, Quinn says: “Given the volatility we are not into Bitcoin as an asset class, if our clients want to be there then of course they are, but we are not promoting it as an asset class within our wealth management business....
