Taiwanese smartphone giant HTC has followed through with its threat to protect its intellectual property in its legal fight against Apple by filing a new lawsuit in the U.S District Court in Delaware, seeking an import and sales ban in the U.S on numerous Apple products. HTC claims that Apple infringed upon three patents through the sale of Mac computers, iPhones, iPads and other devices, filing a lawsuit to halt importation and sale of infringing devices....

HTC has today announced its new flagship Android handset, the HTC Sensation XL, finally confirming the release of the giant 4.7-inch smartphone that many will have known as the HTC Runnymede, debuting another of Beats outfitted device that has entertainment as its heart. The Sensation XL is the third Android handset baring the Sensation name, suggesting that HTC is looking to solidify its smartphone presence with a range of devices under the same brand — mimicing Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy brand....

Taiwan’s biggest smartphone manufacturer HTC has published its fourth-quarter earnings today, posting profits of NT$14.59 billion ($500 million) between October and December, a 160% rise from last year. HTC believes its huge financial success is linked, in part, to its strong design and production but also because of its adoption of Google’s Android operating system, which saw unparalleled growth in 2010. HTC’s fourth-quarter profits rose 31% from the third-quarter, with unconsolidated revenue totalling NT$104 billion, up NT$41....
