iCloud website now out of beta and available to all

Apple has removed the ‘beta’ tag from theiCloud homepageand given the login page a bit of a makeover.It is now allowing all MobileMe users to transition their accounts to iCloud, but signing up for new accounts is still not available. Apple announced during its ‘Let’s Talk iPhone’ event on Oct. 4 thatiCloud will go live along with iOS 5 on Oct. 12, after having been in beta for iOS and Mac OS X developers since WWDC in June this year....

iCloud.com beta with Mail, Contacts and Calendar web apps, now available to developers

Apple has today launchediCloud.com, a beta version of its web portal for its cloud services that is open to developers, reports9to5Mac. The site features versions of its Mail, Contacts and Calendar and Find my iPhone apps that were previously available through the MobileMe service. While we’ve been getting some reports that people not enrolled in the developer program have been able to log in, only developers appear to have access to the syncing features that import Contacts, Calendars and email settings, making it of limited use to end users at the moment....

iCloud’s Product Manager, John Herbold, has left Apple

The news that Apple’s Senior Product Manager of iCloud, John Herbold, has left the company was reported today by9to5Mac. This is just the latest in a series of departures of top Apple executives that includes Bertrand Serlet and Ron Johnson. The departure was discovered on Herbold’s updatedLinkedInprofile that now lists him as the VP of Product atHealthTeacher. A quote on the profile alludes to his history with Apple. I’ve been fortunate enough to define, ship and market a variety of products for one of the world’s most admired product companies....
