For years, Instagram has insisted that its algorithmic feed is better than a chronological one. Ever since the latter wasabandoned in 2016, many users have clamored for a return to the simplicity of yore. It seems these people might finally get their wish come next year. Speaking at a Senate hearing, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said Instagram is “currently working on a version of a chronological feed that we hope to launch next year,” within the first quarter of 2022, and that he supports “giving the people the option” to sort posts chronologically....

Another day, another Snapchat feature lands up on Instagram. The Meta-owned app has now implemented a ‘rage shake’ feature that lets you shake your phone to report a bug. Last night, Instagram’s chief, Adam Mosseri, announced this feature alongside another one that will let you delete a specific photo from a carousel. Pretty neat. Instagram is pausing plans to build a kids’ version of the app after a fierce backlash from lawmakers, child safety groups, and parents.
