We’ve been hearing rumors that Apple would get rid of the notch for ages, but reports to that effect seem to be heating up. Earlier this week, a report by Korean publicationThe Elecsuggested that Apple is getting rid of the notch on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, although it will remain a fixture of the cheaper non-Pro models. Instead, Apple is rumored to use a hole-punch camera, like so many Android phones out there....
Although Airtel had startediPhone 4 pre-registrationsearlier this month, it looks like Aircel will be the first operator that will be bringing it to India. Aircel has just sent a press release announcing that they will be launching the iPhone 4 this Friday for both prepaid and postpaid customers. It will start retailing at Rs 34,500 ($763) for the 16GB model and Rs 40,900 ($905) for the 32GB model. However, the phone will follow a reverse-subsidized model: you will have to pay the iPhone price upfront, but you have the opportunity to recover its full cost in terms of monthly credits over the next 2 years....
Apple might soon highlight a new case study to show just how durable its iPhone 4 model is after it emerged that one of its latest handsets survived a 1,000 foot fall from an light aircraft. iLounge readerand U.S. Air Force Combat Controller Ron Walker contacted the site to tell them of how he dropped his iPhone 4 whilst in the air, helping parachute jumpers out of an aircraft. Travelling at roughly 150mph, Walker leant out of the plane to check for local landmarks, only for his iDevice to fly out of his pocket and plunge to what he thought would be its untimely demise....
LA resident Donald LeBuhn has filed a class action lawsuit against Apple, accusing the company of misleading customers as to the strength of the glass used in its iPhone 4, also suggesting that the company isn’t warning consumers that “normal” use is ultimately ending in a broken phone. LAWeekly reportedthe lawsuit, noting that LeBuhn had paid $252 in September for a new iPhone 4, only for the glass to break when his daughter accidentally dropped it whilst sending a text message....
At its Let’s Talk iPhone event in Cupertino today, Apple has announced the iPhone 4S will be available ftom 14 Oct0ber, with preorders from the 7th – this Friday. The 14 October availability applies to the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, France, Germany and Japan, with other countries to follow at a later date.
