Harvard Business School girls are at it again. Gilt Groupe, BirchBox, LearnVest, AfterSteps, Take The Interview, the list of New York City startups led by women who’ve launched profitable business plans out of Cambridge, MA is growing fast. The latest startup,Snapette, is run by HBS graduate Jinhee Kim and current HBS student Sarah Paiji. Snapette hit the app store in mid-August and asserts itself as the first location-based fashion app that lets you discover and share bags and shoes from anywhere in the world....

A banker friend of mine used to roll around town with one of those black AMEX cards. I’m not sure what he had to do to get it, but it seemed to open all sorts of doors that stayed closed for the rest of us mortals. Stuff like walk in reservations to top restaurants, free flights and hotels, and access to all the airline lounges in the airport. I was jealous....

While pursuing our passion for making things that bring value to millions of people, we built mobile apps to address the needs of non-profits, open government initiatives, etc. We realized that the apps we were thinking of creating, were in the same class as the millions of next-gen mobile apps. These apps are going to use backends because they will upload/download data, use location and social information, and buy and sell things....

Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator(ERA) is one of the newest startup incubators to launch in New York City. 10 early-stage startups participated in ERA’s inaugural summer 2011 program, which kicked off at its Times Square offices on June 6th and culminates today at Stern Business School with the program’s first Demo Day.
