The time is now, at least according to Microsoft, to wage war on the iPad. Why this moment? It is only just now, and not a year ago with the launch of the first Apple slate, that there are a few mildly compelling Windows 7 slates on the market. There sure as heck is no pure iPad competitor, but at long last in the Windows ecosystem there are a few devices that have some guts to them....

Microsoft is now theproud owner of KinectHalo.com, giving life to the idea that the company may eventually build a Kinect version of its wildly popular Halo franchise. Halo is perhaps the most famous first person shooter video game for a console ever released. Its various versions have sold millions of units around the word, and are cultural artifacts in their own right.
