Developers creating apps for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform are now able to submit more free apps to the marketplace after the Redmond-based company announced it hadlifted the limitfrom five free apps to one hundred. Microsoft has initially placed the restriction on developer submissions to ensure the Windows Phone 7 marketplace wasn’t littered with lightweight, low-quality applications that served as “Lite” versions of its more feature-rich paid counterpart. The limit was increased after developers submitted feedback on the matter, pressuring Microsoft to relax its rules, mainly because free and ad-supported versions of apps were beginning to outperform their paid counterparts....
