Having announced pricing and plans for a September launch, French-based music streaming service Deezer is expected to ink a deal with UK mobile operator Orange as it hopes to tempt users away from its more established rival Spotify and impact its rivals in the region,The Independent reports. Both companies have refused to comment on the deal but the newspaper suggests a deal could be announced as early as today, finally providing Orange with a music partner, having considered a deal with popular Swedish-based Spotify but was unable to agree terms....

European mobile operator Orange has teamed up with Apple to launch its new“Film To Go”service in the UK, providing its customers with the chance to rent movies via Apple’s iTunes service free of charge, paying just 35 pence for a text containing a promotional code. The service sees Orange invest further in its commitment to the film industry in the UK, adding the new rental service to its Orange Wednesday movie ticket promotion and its sponsorship of the British film awards, the Baftas....

Orangehas teamed up withVouchercloudto offer both its contract and pay-as-you-go customers at least eight discount offers every month. Orange is the joint-top mobile network in the UK, since it was bought by Everything Everywhere and merged with T-Mobile in 2010. Vouchercloud is an app for UK consumers to receive discounts from across a range of outlets, and is used in over 5,000 retail chains across the country. Whilst the deals will be different each month, the May offers include Habitat, Malmaison, Headmasters and Fitness First....

According to the rumor mill coming out of theDLD Conference, European based video sharing siteDailymotionappears to be in acquisition talks. Or, at the very least, it appears the Orange will be acquiring 30-50 percent of the company with the official announcement to come tomorrow (25 January). Telecompaperstatesthat the move is being investigated in order to strengthen the financial aspect of Dailymotion....

UK mobile operator Orange has become the latest mobile company to launch an e-book store for Android devices, introducing the Orange Book Club, a platform that directly bills an Orange users account via a “one click buy” function. Available to all Android users, the Orange Book Club will offer 23,000 e-books and audiobooks. Orange customers will have the added ability to link purchases to any device on their account but non-customers will have to enter their payment details manually....
