George Hotz a.k.a Geohot, who is well known for his contributions to the iPhone jailbreaking community, has found himself in legal trouble after publicly disclosing jailbreak exploits for Sony’s PlayStation 3 console. Hotz, various members of the fail0verflow team (that helped make the tools available) and another 100 unnamed defendants have found themselves subject to a lawsuit that acuses the individuals involved of “distributing software, tools and instructions that circumvent the TPMs in the PS3 System and facilitate the counterfeiting of video games” via the internet....

Sony has made an announcement on theirPlaystation blogtoday letting all subscribers of the Playstation Network know that the network has been compromised and user information including names, passwords, addresses and most likely credit card numbers have been stolen.Update below. In the announcement, Sony’s Director of Communications Patrick Seybold had this to say. We have discovered that between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account information was compromised in connection with an illegal and unauthorized intrusion into our network....

A day or so ago we suggested Sony Ericsson could be doing itself a disservice by refusing to officially acknowledge the existence of the PlayStation Phone, especially with the constant stream of leaked videos and images that have been surfacing over the past few weeks....

Whilst it might not demonstrate the true gaming ability ofSony Ericsson’s PlayStation Phone, a new video has emerged showing the handset being put through its paces running emulated Playstation titles via a third-party app. Engadgetposted up the video which only really serves to provide a demonstration of the gaming controls in action.
