Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung has filed an infringement claim against Apple in Australia,reports Bloomberg. The claim accuses Apple of infringing on seven of Samsung’s patents with its iPhone and iPad products. The patents are related to wireless communications standards and Samsung is seeking to use those patents to defend itself against an Apple filing that asserts design and technology patents against Samsung’s Galaxy S smartphones and Galaxy tablets. This marks yet another riposte in the legal battle between Samsung and Apple, which is currently being waged in Australia, Asia, the US and Germany....

It seems that when Samsung stated it was considering filing a counterclaim in response to a lawsuit by Apple, it was already preparing its legal team to draw up the necessary documents. Today, the electronics giant has moved to issue a complaint against the iPhone maker, by filing lawsuits in South Korea, Japan and Germany which accuse the Cupertino-based company of violating its patents in producing the iPhone and iPad....
