Anonymous has hacked into Iranian government servers andprocured over 10,000 email messagesfrom theMinistry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry’s website is still down as of this writing, and the servers are under Anonymous control. One of the Iranian members of Anonymous involved with the operation sent me a message from the compromised email servers as evidence that they were still under Anonymous control. While email addresses can be spoofed, the collection of 10,000 emails is a pretty good indication that they have no need for spoofing....

Italian police are the latest to make arrests in connection to hacking collective Anonymous,accordingtoreportsfrom the country today. 32 dawn raids were carried out, including one across the border in the Swiss region of Ticino. Following the raids, three people including one minor were arrested. The raids followpolice action in Spainlast month, which saw another three suspects arrested in connection with the hack which brought down Sony’s Playstation Network for several weeks....

Turkey’s Telecommunications Communication Presidency website has been taken down today by Anonymous using their trademark DDoS attack,CNET reports. The attack follows the announcement of a plan by the Turkish government to implement a new Internet censorship initiative. “The government now wants to impose a new filtering system on the 22nd of August that will make it possible to keep records of all the people’s internet activity. Though it remains opaque why and how the system will be put in place, it is clear that the government is taking censorship to the next level,” Anonymous said in a statement on itsnews site, which is currently offline....

Malaysia has been on its toes after receiving threats of a cyberattack from Internet hacktivist group Anonymous in retaliation for government acts of censorship, according to the Malaysian police chief. The attack, code-named Operation Malaysia, will target the Malaysian government’s online portal from 0730 GMT in protest against the country’s censorship of whistle-blower site Wikileaks, and several file-sharing websites.
