Apple releases WWDC session videos, slides to developers

The video archives of all of the WWDC 2011 sessions are nowlive on iTunesfor iOS and Lion developers. The videos cover all of the various topics that were discussed by Apple engineers at the conference earlier this month. In order to watch the videos you will need a developer account as the site requires a login. The topics are covered under NDA but in general developers will be getting a closer look at how to integrate iCloud services, Twitter authentication, the new Notification Center and more into their iOS apps....

Apple has removed the ThirdIntifada app from the App Store, after theIsraeli government asked Appleto get rid of it earlier this week. ThirdIntifada was used to distribute anti-Israeli editorial and announce scheduled protests to Palestinian users. Intifada is an Arabic word that means “shaking off” but can be more accurately translated to English as “uprising”. Two previous Israeli-Palestinian conflicts are known as the First Intifada and Second Intifada, and the name ThirdIntifada makes the intent of those behind the app quite clear....

Apple replaces iconic 5th Ave glass with fifteen 32 ft long seamless panes

Apple has posted an announcement on the outside of its Fifth Avenue store in New York, which is currently undergoing rennovation, that details some of its plans for the store’s new facade,reports MacRumors. The notice indicates that Apple plans on replacing the 90 glass panels that previously made up the cube with just 15 seamless glass segments. The segments will be huge, with only 3, running from the top of the store to the bottom, on each side and 3 on top....

Apple reportedly adding suppliers for iPhone 5, aims for a summer release?

Digitimesis reporting that Apple is adding new component suppliers for its next-generation iPhone, calling on new companies to ease component backlogs so that the Cupertino company can achieve a summer launch. Apple is believed to have added Foxconn Electronics, Foxlink, Gold Circuit Electronics (GCE) and Epistar as component suppliers. Foxconn has been asked to become the iPhone 5’s new earphone supplier, as the company moved away from its Japanese supplier Foster, as the Japanese economy strengthened....

Apple reportedly backs out of Grand Central store negotiations

Back in February,we reportedthat Apple was in talks to secure retail space in New York’s Grand Central Terminal, opening a new Apple Store that would have been its biggest in terms of retail space. It appears that talks between the M.T.A and Apple have broken down, resulting in the Cupertino-based company deciding not to open a new 16,000 square-foot retail store in one of New York’s most popular landmarks.
