With apreliminary injunction successfully placedupon imports and sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Europe, Apple has also filed a complaint against Motorola and a German company called JAY-tech either before or at the same time as the Samsung suit, accusing the vendors of copying its iPad design, saysFOSSpatents’ Florian Mueller. Apple is said to have filed the complaint with the District Court of Dusseldorf (the same court where it filed the Samsung lawsuit) over the design of the Motorola XOOM but the document does not say whether the Cupertino-based company had included a request for a preliminary injunction over imports and sales in Germany, or across Europe....

While it’s well known that creating anything that even remotely resembles an Apple product will find you on the business end of a lawsuit from the Cupertino company, this one might be taking things a bit too far. As reported fromAll Things D, Apple is suing Samsung, stating that Samsung has willfully violated patents, committed trademark infringement and exercised unfair competition. Why, you might ask? It all goes back to Samsung’s Galaxy line of phones and tablets....

Apple has, at least for the moment, taken the place of Exxon Mobile as the most valuable company in the world, measured by market cap,reports MacRumors.Apple’s market cap hit $341.55 billion in valuation today, while ExxonMobil was valued at $341.42 billion. With Apple reportedly tying up much of the available production capacity in Taiwanese plants, the Cupertino-based company has reporting turned more aggressive with its ordering strategy to prepare for its peak season by placing orders for up to 14 million iPad 2’s in the third quarter. Digitimes reportsthat Apple will almost double the numbers of orders from the second quarter, boosting available numbers from 7-9 million units between April and July....

Apple is reportedly readying a new addition to its iMac range of desktop computers, launching a sub-$1000 model which will be targeted at students, education establishments and volume customers,reports 9to5mac.
