AT&T begins crackdown on jailbroken iPhone tethering

Despite Apple officially introducing its Mobile Hotspot feature in its latest iOS firmware, many iPhone owners are still utilising third party solutions to enable tethering on their devices. CultofMac reportsthat US mobile operator AT&T has begun cracking down on customers that have not signed up to its official tethering plans and do not use official means to tether their devices. AT&T iPhone 4S buyers running into “could not activate” issues, here’s a couple of things to try

We predicted then that the same issues would crop up once users in the US began picking up their iPhones and it looks like it came true. Today I had the distinct pleasure of attending the grand opening of the first of three, new, Dallas-based AT&T, Foundry innovation centers. On display were some of the wireless carrier’s partners, Microsoft, Cisco, and IBM, a demonstration of the company’s 4G network (it’s fast and can’t wait for it to roll-out to all), in addition to many other technological innovations AT&T has in the works for 2011 and beyond.
