Best Buy listing suggests five new Macbooks incoming

AppleInsider reportsthat Apple partner Best Buy, one of the biggest resellers of Apple’s products, has begun listing five SKU’s for new Macbook notebooks, starting at $1,199 and ranging up to $2,499. The SKU’s were spotted by Engadget, listed within Best Buy’s online Laptop Configuration tool, each one labelled with a “New SKU” and an availability listed as “Coming Soon”. The existence of five new Macbook products would mean Apple was cutting one of its existing configurations, launching five new laptops that would be priced at $1,199, $1,499, $1,799, $2,199 and $2,499....

Best Buy unhappy with poor HP TouchPad sales; wants to return them

There has been plenty of indication that HP’s webOS-based tablet is doing poorly in the market, anda new report by AllThingsDbrings further confirmation on the matter. According to its source, Best Buy has only been able to sell about 25,000 of the 270,000 TouchPads it had ordered and is unwilling to pay for the residual inventory. Another source for the publication supports that finding and goes on to say that even the 25,000 number may be generous, because it likely doesn’t take into account the units returned by unhappy customers....
