Business as usual: The UK ISP ‘porn opt-in’ debacle is a big hoo-ha over nothing
If you’ve been following the UK Internet Service Provider (ISP) ‘porn debate’ over the past 24-hours, you may be a little confused as to what exactly is happening. Well here’s the short answer – not a great deal. One of the earlyreportsin yesterday’s Guardian newspaper seemed quite adamant that subscribers to the top 4 ISPs in the UK – BT, TalkTalk, Virgin and Sky – would have to “opt in” if they wanted to view sexually explicit websites, as part of a government-led initiative to protect children from porn....
