We like to make fun of Facebook for copying features off of other platforms, but this time around it’s probably a good idea: Facebook is testing a feature that will remind users they should read an article before sharing it —just like Twitter. In fact, the company shared the news on Twitter, perhaps as a subtle acknowledgement of this fact. Starting today, we’re testing a way to promote more informed sharing of news articles....

It seems that Facebook has begun testing a new feature that will allow users to recommend pages to their friends as they’re browsing the Facebook website. At the time of writing I’ve not been able to access this new feature myself, so it’s likely only been rolled out to a specific area or user-base. But asreportedover at All Facebook, the new feature invites users to recommend a page to their friends by entering a comment in a small text box and clicking ‘recommend’....

This appeared on my profile just now but it appears to be displaying fairly randomly, suggesting Facebook is rolling it out slowly or testing it on some profiles.
