Foursquarejust won the Superbowlwith over 200,000 check-ins. Now it aims to take over New York City’s Fashion Week and has introduced two new badges to celebrate. Badge #1: From now until February 19th, Foursquare users who followMarc Jacobsand check in at least once to any Marc Jacobs venue will unlock the “Marc Jacobs Fashion Victim 2011” badge. Four users who unlock the badge will be invited to sit amongst the celebs for New York’s fashion week (#NYFW)....

In ablog post today, location-based appfoursquare(yes, intentionally no capital F apparently) announced a new feature specifically for iOS5 called ‘Radar’. A lot of app makers are creating new features that take advantage of all of Apple’s new iOS5 functionality, and foursquare was quick out of the gates to announce its own.The updateforfoursquareis not on the Apple App Store yet, as we’re sure that the company is inundated with new app updates for today’s iOS5 public launch....

While we don’t have any actual numbers yet from Facebook Places, it seems thatFoursquareis stll the reigning king of the checkin. During yesterday’s annualFoursquare Day, the service saw its largest day yet, with 3,073,635 checkins according toa tweetfrom Foursquare founder Dennis Crowley: Oh Foursquare. It seems like only yesterday that we were reporting onthe newsof passing 1 million in a day. But it wasn’t just a great day for the Foursquare crew....

Foursquare hasupdated its iPhone applicationto provide its users with a new way to receive notifications, amend their settings and check in using its redesigned checkin page. The notification update brings a feature that Android smartphone owners have had forjust over a week, alerting iPhone owners whenever friends comment, complete a tip that the user has submitted or share the same place in their To-Do List. Alerts will now be shown within the header of the app, providing real-time notifications on when a place a user has checked-in at begins to start swarming, when a Facebook friend joins the service (similar to Instagram) and when a user has been replaced as the Mayor at their favourite check-in location....

ABloomberg reportearlier today claimed that Foursquare was considering a new round of funding. It turns out, according toFoursquareat least, this isn’t true at all. The report claimed that the New York startup’s founder Naveen Selvadurai had stated at the MIDEM music industry conference in Cannes, France this weekend that the company was worth over $250m and may seek additional funding in 2011. However, a Foursquare spokesperson denied the report to us, stating “Naveen did not comment on our valuation or fundraising plans....
