Google has rolled out a new feature that allows websites to use metadata to link content to its author, making it easier for Google users to follow their favorite writers on the web,CNetreports. The special authorship markup tag is a new HTML 5 feature that incorporates the author into the search results for their articles, which could potentially affect search ranking in the future. Google Arabiaannouncedin a blog post today the search engine’s most recent localized feature for Muslims which provides City specific Islamic Prayer Times highlighted immediately in the results page, kind of. Muslims pray 5 times a day according to the position of the sun in the sky, which means times shift throughout the year according to the change in the day’s duration. While the effort is commendable, it doesn’t offer prayer information for cities with large Muslim populations, like Paris for instance....

Though Google has continued to improve the service, it seems that (at least from what we hear anecdotally) people simply don’t use the Social function very regularly.
