Details of the deal aren’t yet known, but Google believes that the conversations that Fflick helps facilitate would be perfect for services like YouTube, so it has acquired the company to help analyze social media data to “surface great content and the discussions around it”. Whether the platform is integrated into Google’s existing services remains a mystery, we feel the acquisiton looks to be more of a talent grab than an acqusition of the technology....

Wereportedyesterday how 99% of Android handsets are vulnerable to impersonation attacks. Well, it seems that a fix is currently being rolled out for all affected users. The flaw potentially could enable attackers to hijack tokens used to access calendars, contacts and a number of other services available within Google’s Android operating system. A Google spokesperson toldcomputerworldthat the flaw, which had only recently been identified by a team of German researchers, was being fixed and a server-side patch was being rolled out that addresses the problem for all versions of Android OS....

In a statement released today on the officialGoogle Enterprise blog, Google claims that Microsoft’s suggestion that it intentionally misled the U.S. government over its compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
