Google+took a mere 16 days to hit 10 million users. By comparison, both Twitter and Facebook took over 2 years to hit that milestone, requiring 780 days and 852 days respectively. Leon Hålandhas kindly put together this graph, which helps put Google+’s hockey-stick growth into perspective, compared to its social networking counterparts: Whilst there’s little doubt that Google+’s growth is impressive, it’s probably also worth noting that it did have a considerable head-start on both Twitter and Facebook, which were both starting from scratch – as a social network, as a brand…as everything....

Google’s new social network Google+ has reached 25 million users in just over a month to become the fastest website to reach an audience of that size, according to ComScore figures released on Wednesday. Reuters reportsthat Google+ launched in late June and reached the milestone by July 24, growing at a rate of one million visitors a day. The search giant has not yet publicly launched the service to the millions of its Google account holders, still employing an invitation system whilst the team work to scale the service and incorporate new features before it is unveiled to wider audience....

According to arecently-discussed shareinside of Google+, it appears that the first changes are going to be rolling out in answer to some concerns from its users. First, when you have a post that is defined as Limited (anything that you haven’t shared publicly) other people will no longer be able to share that content....

Google+ designer and engineer Andy Hertzfeld, who we had the privilege of interviewinghere, has justannounceda small but notable new feature on Google+. The top black bar that has become an iconic new design feature of Google’s will now find a home for itself fixed to the top of your screen, so it will remain ‘floating’ as you scroll down the page. It’s a small design tweak but should make your browsing experience that little bit more productive with the ability to access other Google products and notifications without having to scroll back to the very top again....
