Amazonhas announcedthe release of its new shopping app available for Android smartphone owners in the UK.

The free app gives Amazon customers the opportunity search the millions of products available on the retailer’s website, bringing with it similar features to its iPhone counterpart.

Barcode scanning is included, allowing shoppers to scan products when on the move, checking for lower prices on Amazon UK. One-click (or 1-Click) purchasing is supported for both Amazon and Marketplace listings, as well as the ability to utilize the Amazon Prime membership service.

Inside the profile section, users can track orders, add and remove products to their wish lists and receive product recommendations.

To download the app, simply search for “Amazon.co.uk” on the Android Market or use the use the QR code provided below (click for bigger):
