Link-shortening addicts who rely onBit.lywill be pleased to hear that the company has justrolled outa mightily impressive new mobile-optimised website.
Feeling more like an app than a site, it includes the ‘pull down to refresh’ mechanic familiar to users of Twitter’s official apps. Stats for links are rendered in HTML5 and there’s offline caching, meaning that if you try to shorten a link while your device is not connected to the Internet, it will automatically be saved for later and shortened when the connection is restored. Up to 100 recently links are cached too, meaning that you can browse through stats even when you’re offline.
There’s a neat thumbnail preview of tab for each link, and if you’ve linked to a YouTube or Vimeo video you can even view it right from Bit.ly’s site.
In short, this is great work from the Bit.ly team and perfect for anyone wanting to keep track of their link stats on the go. You can access the new site by visitinghttp://bit.lyfrom a mobile device.
