Granted, you’ve been able to editGoogle Docsvia the Web for quite some time, but it’s never really made sense to us that Android didn’t have a dedicated app for Docs. Today, Google has answered the request of many, and theGoogle Docs app for Androidis plainly awesome.
If you’ve been using Google Docs for any length of time, you already know the advantages and ease of use. Docs for Android is clean, slick and has better account switching than you’re currently seeing inChrome. Just a tap of the account at the bottom of the screen enables you to switch, no log-out/log-in necessary.
According to the release notes, you’re able to do near-realtime collaboration, edit spreadsheets, upload docs and just about anything else that you’d do from your desktop. For those of you who own Android tablets, you’re going to love the app. Oh, and one more cool thing? You can take a photo of a document and turn it into a Doc straight from the app, no third-party needed.
Loading up the app, it will take a bit of time for your documents to all sync into place. However, once they’re synced it appears that editing, sending and all other tasks are second nature.
