You can now listen to your Google Music collection comfortably on your iPhone or iPad thanks to the new Google Music web app that was just released today. Google announced the web app viaTwitterand we immediately hopped on to check it out. users that have an account can now listen to their collection in the comfort of a slick little web app, rather than the previous hacky methods.
The app looks pretty great and feels much snazzier than your average Google app. Hopefully this is a sign of good design to come. Functionally it is a pure ‘player’, with no ability to upload any music or browse any catalogs of music, much like the rest of the Google Music service at the moment.

The player is a relatively spartan affair, but shows off a much darker and more stylized design than we’re used to seeing from Google products. You can browse songs by artist, album, genre or playlist, if you have any set up. Once you have a song playing, the app can also be left to play in the background and you can control it using the built-in music controls on iOS just like any other audio source. There is also a search function, if your library is that big.
We asked Google if a native app for iOS was coming soon but it says that it is considering options to share Google Music with more people, but doesn’t have anything to share as of yet.
You can see the new web app from your iOS device atMusic.Google.com, as long as you have an invite to the service of course.
