Now here’s a fun publicity stunt fromRovio. The Finnish games developer is set to hold a hardcore Angry Birds contest at around 33,000 feet.

In an event being described as “the longest, highest Angry Birds flight”, eight superfans of the game will take to the skies in a joint promotion with Finnair that will see them flying from Rovio’s home country of Finland to Singapore. While in flight, they will hold an ‘Angry Birds Asian Challenge’.

Keen fans of the hit game franchise can applyhereto take part in the event which will be held on 20 September 2011. AsAdWeek notes, beyond simply being a promotional push for Rovio and Finnair, it’s also part of a wider plan for Rovio to expand its brand into the Asian market.
