This A.M.P. robot (Automated Music Personality) was spotted at DEMO Fall this month. It’s a two-wheeled, self-balancing boombox robot that serves up music through its two hand speakers and a subwoofer in its chest. With music controlled by your smartphone, this bot is a definite party accessory. The rep for OLogic says it will cost between $300-$400 robot is expected to launch in 2012 or 2013.
IEEE Spectrum points outthat the bot is an upgrade from Sega Toys and Hasbro’A.M.P. music robot from 2008. While the 2008 version required you to plug in your iPod, this one works with bluetooth. Would you shell out $300 for a robot boombox?
