If you are a gamer, and there are a few of you out there, you might have heard of a little game called Half Life 2. However, you might not know that there is a wonderful derivative of the game that employs its graphics and physics engine calledGarry’s Mod, or GMod, that has made the game into a virtual sandbox for testing.
Testing what? Anything. GMod is a place where people can use the very advanced physics and graphics capabilities of Half Life 2 to build virtual environments and situations to their heart’s content. Now, with the help of the Kinect and a few hackers, GMod is taking on a whole new level.
What if, instead of clicking your mouse to kick a box on-screen, you actually kick out, and Kinect records your motion and feeds it into the game? It’s a simple mental jump to make, but it makes the game infinitely more fun. We don’t want to spoil the video, so get watching:
