Third party developers have beenaskingfor an API forLinkedIn‘s Groups feature for some times and finally todayit’s arrived.
As a launch demo for what it can do, LinkedIn is showcasing Microsoft’sWorldwide Partner Conference 2011site. Through the API, attendees can share comments about event sessions and activities for others in real-time, and use LinkedIn to stay in touch after the event with no extra effort.”
The API allows developers to pull in Group Discussions by Popularity and Recency; display users’ Group memberships and suggested Groups; allow users to join Groups;, post Group discussions and comment on, ‘like’ and follow discussions.
If you’re an avid LinkedIn user, it looks like there could be some even more useful third-party apps coming your way just as soon as the developers get to grips with their new-found powers.
