Omni Grouphas just pushed the next version of its project managment applicationOmniPlaninto public beta.
OmniPlan 2.0 brings a range of new features with it, including collaboration, scheduling and advanced printing options.
The new collaboration feature set is the most exciting, enabling WebDAV server synchronization and the publishing, sharing and tracking of tasks. It also hooks into Apple’s Calendar Server to evaluate free and busy times for the allocation of resources.
OmniPlan’s improvements to its existing scheduling feature set includes support for fiscal years — instead of just calendar years — and the ability to schedule projects backwards from a fixed end date, great for projects which have firm deadlines that all planning must be developed around.

Omni Group did mention atMacworldthatOmniFocusintegration was part of the plan for the next version of OmniPlan, but the company hasn’t mentioned it in theirblog poston this public beta. We’re still hoping to see it in a future release of 2.0 before it’s finalized.
