I’m currently writing this to you fromCourtney & Jess’s apartment. That’s an official Foursquare location. It pops up on Instagram, Foodspotting, and on the web. Along with photos, comments and tips. A few months ago, Foursquare changed how venues categorized as ‘homes’ showed up on the app to help protect users’ privacy of people’s homes. This meant that ‘homes’ only showed up in the ‘nearby places’ list if you were friends with the creator of the venue, if you’d checked in there before, or if you searched for it specifically by name....

The battle between Android and iPhone has been hectic indeed. I’ve been in more than enough friendly debates with friends over which smartphone device works better than the other that I could probably fill pages upon pages with reasons. Opinions vary according to each individual user, of course, and many times, you’ll find that it’s not the smartphone itself that determines its value, but the consumers themselves. The Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge finals will be held on 14 October, awarding an innovative startup with a €500,000 prize for successfully combining sustainability, entrepreneurship, and creativity. A total of 574 green startups from the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, and Norway (the five Postcode Lotteries countries) submitted their business plan for the 2021 Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge competition. The top 25 entries were announced over the summer, with the five finalists named in September....

Google finally did it. The company is mergingtwo apps for Drive into one, instead of launching another one to confuse the heck out of people. The apps in question are the Google Drive desktop appand Backup and Sync tool. Google isbundling these apps into one, along with some features from an old enterprise app called Google Drive Stream. The Backup and Sync app was launched before the Google Drive desktop app existed....
