With the Samsung Galaxy S II just under two weeks from launching in the UK and other regions, the electronics giant has begun marketing the device, focusing on the vivid AMOLED+ display in a new YouTube video.
Whilst the commercial isn’t the most comprehensive of adverts, it does show that Samsung is hoping that its display technology will be one of the stronger selling points of its Android smartphone.
We had the chance tocheck out the Samsung Galaxy S IIat this years Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona and were impressed by just how light and how thin Samsung managed to make its new dual-core Android smartphone.
Specs-wise, we’re looking at HSPA+ 21Mbps/ HSUPA 5.76Mbps, Samsung Dual Core Application Processor and 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash plus another 2MP front-facing unit. It runs Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s Touchwiz UI layer, which isn’t half as intrusive as some other manufacturers’ ‘enhancements’.
