European startup incubatorSeedcampis an early-stage micro seed investment and mentoring program that we’ve written aboutquite a few timesat The Next Web. Seedcamp holds events throughout the year that help it to decide which startups to cultivate with investments and advice. In March, Seedcampannounceda partnership with Facebook that means Seedcamp startups receive product, technical, and design support as well as early access to beta products and programs on Facebook platform.

In early June, right in time forNew York’s Internet Week, Seedcamp crossed the pond to host Mini Seedcamp New York. The team received applications from all over the world for the MiniCamp event and picked the final list to present in Google’s New York offices. Seedcamp kicked off its week in the big apple with a panel onFoursquare.Saul KleininterviewedDennis Crowley, the founder ofFoursquare,Bryce RobertsfromO’Reilly Alpha Tech Ventures, andAlbert WengerofUnion Square Venturesabout the early days of the company, the ambitious take on a huge market, and the ways the founders and investors work together for a common goal.

Our first Seedcamp New York was a huge success – we’re proud to say that our venture across the Atlantic bore some great results and left us certain that we will come back. We started off on Sunday with a pre-Seedcamp meetup with all the teams – burgers and beers, what else.ERPLY, who hosted us back in February, made sure no one was left hungry, and it was a great opportunity to get to know the teams in advance. On Monday, we met everybody again, this time at the impressive Google cafeteria, to go through all the pitches and to prepare the teams for the onslaught of feedback they were sure to receive on Seedcamp day.
