Viewbookis an online platform aimed at helping designers and artists share their work in good-looking, easy-to-use portfolios. You can even sell your work through the service. Now the Dutch team behind the service has launched aniPad app.
Tablets such as the iPad are great for taking out and using to share portfolios with potential clients, and the Viewbook app is designed to make that process as easy as possible.
Integrating with your Viewbook account (nay, requiringa Viewbook account), you can view and manage your work much more easily than with Apple’s built-in gallery. As it’s not tied to iPhoto, images can be rearranged and new portfolios created on the fly – all while looking positively gorgeous. Images can be shared right from the app by email and can also be downloaded for offline access in case you can’t get a data connection when you meet that all-important client-to-be.
That’s not to say that it’s quite perfect. It would be great to be able to upload new images right from your iPad’s storage, while some of Viewbook’s Web-based features, such as the ability to display your CV, aren’t present here in the app’s current form.

Still, for anyone looking to take their artwork, photographs or designs with them in an attractive, dynamic portfolio, Viewbook’s iPad app is well worth trying. The app itself isfree, although Viewbook charges amonthly or annual feefor its service after a 30-day free trial.
