Even though there isn’t much known aboutSony’s S2 tablet, AT&T has todayannouncedit will be the exclusive launch carrier for the 4G, dual-screened tablet device, despite the fact doesn’t have an official name, release date or price.

The US carrier released a statement noting it would be the “exclusive U.S. mobile broadband provider for the “Sony Tablet” S2 (codename), a dual screen, multi-functional tablet ideal for mobile communication and entertainment, that Sony Corporation plans to launch later this year.”

We do know that the tablet will pack two 5.5-inch touchscreens and will be 4G-capable, whilst running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) when it launches. Both Sony and AT&T are sketchy on release dates, simply stating it will launch later in the year, noting that pricing and retail parts will be announced at launch.

There isn’t much to get excited about but if you have your heart set on getting the new Sony S2 tablet, you at least have an idea of what carrier it will launch with.
