The Crazy Ones was a commercial that Apple used to launch its ‘Think Different’ campaign back in 1997 just after Steve Jobs’ return to Apple. Ken Segall ofScoopertinofame wrote a post last week about the spirit of the ad and how much Steve loved it. In the post he mentioned that a video of historical shots of Steve would be a great compliment to Richard Dreyfus’ narration on the ad.
He thought it was such a good idea that he went ahead anddid it himself, producing this fitting tribute to Jobs as he moves on from the CEO position to Chairman of the Board.
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones,we see genius.Because the people who are crazy enoughto think they can change the world…are the ones who do.
Segallpoints outthat, while Steve didn’t write the entire script, he did contribute a few words. Specifically the line “they push the human race forward.”
