Is your romantic date going better than expected? Or did an unexpected guest (mom and dad) drop into town? Check out the sweet new iPhone app,Hotel Tonight.

In its current form, the app, which was released at the end of January, lets you book same-day hotel rooms for up to 70% off in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, D.C. and Hollywood, California.

The app offers three great deals each day at vetted hotels in three categories- one hip hotel, one basic hotel and one elegant hotel. It also stores your bookings receipts for easy access when you check in.

Hotel Tonight asks for your location, and for me it pulled up 3 New York hotels- the Hotel Roger Williams (Elegant) for $129 a night, marked down from $155; theAce Hotel(Hip) for $159 per night, marked down from $191; and theComfort InnTimes Square for $119 a night, marked down from $143 per night.

Calling all Scaleup founders! Join the Soonicorn Summit on November 28 in Amsterdam.

Meet with the leaders of Picnic, Miro, Carbon Equity and more during this exclusive event dedicated to Scaleup Founders!

The app is great for both merchants and users as it lets customers snag great deals and helps hotels fill rooms. Once more cities and hotels abroad are added, this app could be a traveler’s dream.

Download the free iPhone apphereand receive $25 off your first booking. Also, every friend you invite to Hotel Tonight gets an automatic $25 credit, and once your friend uses that credit, you get an additional $25 credit towards your next booking.

Also, is it just me or does the logo look a lot like The Standard Hotel’s?
