Donald Trump’s social network TRUTH will supposedly launch on February 21, according toa listing on the Apple App Store.
People in the US can pre-order the app of this social network, which claims to fight the“the tyranny of Big Tech.” The former US President first announcedthis app and the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG)that will run it, last October.
But apart from this date on the app store, we know little about the actual platform or how people can join it. TMTG had said that in the initial phase, people willlog-in to the network on an invite-only basis. It had also promised a November 2021 launch for the service, but it clearly missed the deadline.
Despite the said release date on the app store, there are many unanswered questions: Is the February launch invite-only? Will the social network be available on the web? Are there any moderation policies in place?
All that said, Trump has successfully raised money for his company. Last month, a bunch of investorspumped $1 billion intotheDigital World Acquisition Corp, a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC). After the news of TRUTH’s release, the firm’s stock shot up by almost 20%, and it was valued at $5.3 billion.

Last year, in the aftermath of the US Capitol Riots, Trump got banned from all major social networks, includingTwitter,Facebook, YouTube, and Shopify. Now, this platform could be his new megaphone.
But that’s not it. Earlier this week, Republican Marjorie Taylor Greenegot permanently banned from Twitter and Facebook. So she and her supporters might be looking for a new home(beyond the likes of Gettr). We’re keeping an eye on the situation to see if the majority of the right-leaning leaders will move to this new social network.
TMTG’s challenge will be to monitor the content going on the network and to try and avoid becominganother Parler.
