Today, Twitter showed off how a profile for a business could look on its platform. It noted this change would make it easier for companies, non-profits, publishers, and the like to display specific information about their organization.

This could also help Twitter users find official accounts for customer support more easily, but we’ll have to see how this is implemented and used widely first.

It’s also not yet clear if your account will need to be verified before it can be converted into a Professional Profile; we’ve written toTwitterto ask, and will update this post when we learn more.

Professional Profiles are a new tool that will allow businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators — anyone who uses Twitter for work — to display specific information about their business directly on their profile.

In the image you can see above, there’s a more detailed bio that includes a map, website link, and buttons to find directions and contact the organization directly.

Twitter said it’ll first open this up to a small number of US-based businesses, and then roll it out elsewhere in the coming months. If you’ve got ideas for features you’d like to see in Professional Profiles, you can let the company know byreplying to this tweet.
