Everyone loves a good old-fashioned street promotion, and Microsoft, with its carrier partner TELUS, are out to cash in on that human fact.
All over Montreal, Microsoft and TELUS have set up displays and replicas of the LG Optimus 7 that were then covered in magnets, some 4,000 of them. But these were no regular magnets, they were magnets in the shape and color and design of the Live Tiles that the phone’s OS employs.
If you watch the video below, you can see several of the displays stripped bare of their magnet cargo. If there are any magnets left on any of the displays is something that we have not been able to confirm. If you live in Montreal, and can say either way, please do in the comments below.
This is the kind of fun, smart marketing (and cheap) that Microsoft should roll out in more places.
